Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a laundry strip?
Good Juju laundry strips are an ultra-concentrated, liquidless laundry detergent that comes the form of a pre-measured, tearable strip. It’s the eco-friendly solution to the 700 million plastic laundry detergent jugs that end up in landfills every year.
How do I use Good Juju laundry strips?
Separate one pre-measured laundry strip and place it in your washing machine. If using a top-load washer, place strip directly in drum. For a front-loading washer, tear the strip in half and add to the drum.
How many strips should I use?
Generally, we recommend one strip per single load (3 – 5 kg) of lightly soiled laundry. For larger or more heavily soiled loads, increase the amount of detergent by simply adding a second or third strip. You also have the flexibility of tearing a strip into smaller portions for small loads, or when hand-washing.
Why doesn’t the laundry strip produce many suds?
You may be surprised to learn that the amount of suds produced does NOT relate to the detergent’s cleaning power.
High Efficiency (HE) washing machines recommend the use of low-sudsing detergent formulas, specifically labelled as HE-compatible. Good Juju Laundry Strips use a unique, low-sudsing formula that is HE-compatible, and works in all types of washing machines.
Other laundry detergents that produce lots of suds usually contain bubble-producing additives, which in reality do nothing to improve their cleaning power – these additives are added mainly for appearance purposes.
What is the shelf life of Good Juju laundry strips?
We recommend Good Juju Laundry Strips be used within three years of purchase.
Are laundry strips safe to use on natural wool?
Good Juju Detergent Strips can safely be used for hand-washing some wool fabrics, but we always recommend that you follow the specific washing recommendations of the clothing manufacturer. Manufacturers typically recommend dry-cleaning or hand-washing wool with specific cleaners. Good Juju strips may be used for hand-washing if care is taken to fully dissolve the strip in water prior to adding the wool clothes.
Are laundry strips safe to use on natural silk?
We do not recommend washing silk fabrics with Good Juju Laundry Strips. We always recommend you follow the washing recommendations of the clothing manufacturer. Most silk fabric manufacturers recommend dry-cleaning or hand-washing silk with specific cleaners.
Are laundry strips safe on cloth diapers?
Good Juju laundry strips are safe for 100% cotton cloth diapers, but as always, we recommend that you follow the washing recommendations provided by the cloth diaper manufacturer.
Unlike most leading brand liquid detergents, Good Juju strips will not have any effect on the absorbency of the cloth, and is hypoallergenic. Please note that many modern cloth diapers also contain some combination of synthetic materials and glues in their support structure. Depending on the materials used, Good Juju laundry strips (and other detergents) may affect the strength and durability of that support structure.
Are laundry strips safe to use on moisture-wicking fabric?
Good Juju laundry strips are safe for most synthetic fabrics, but we strongly recommend that you always follow the specific washing instructions provided by the clothing manufacturer.
Good Juju Laundry Strips do not contain the cationic surfactants or solvents often found in fabric softeners and many liquid detergents, which can impair the wicking properties of specific fabrics after multiple washes. Good Juju is generally safe for most synthetic fabrics.
Are Good Juju laundry strips septic safe?
Yes, Good Juju Laundry Strips are safe to use even if you are on a septic system.
